G2 Revolver at Sherwood PinesThe G2 Revolver is a three-date enduro series taking place in Brighton, Builth Wells and, on 19/20 April in Sherwood Pines, Nottingham, with the first 12-hour endurance race of the year. Already backed by Gary Fisher, the organisers have just announced the support of Swinnerton Cycles for the series, which kicks of in just a few weeks. Swinnertons will be at all three rounds of the G2 Revolver starting with the Nightrider at Sherwood Pines on the 19/20 April. The course will open for practice laps before the event kicks off at 8pm and promises to be one of the fastest courses in the series, and absolutely perfect for 29” wheels. Gary Fisher will roll out its fleet of demo bikes, all equipped with Garmin 605 and 705 units. Exposure will be on hand to help out with everyone's lighting needs should you fall upon catastrophe and run out of juice before the night is over. And should you run out of juice yourself, Torq will be there to help keep your engine ticking over with their nutrition products.
Sherwood Pines, Near Mansfield, 12 hour race, April 19/20. This will be the second staging of the Nightrider, which will provide a great start to the Revolver Series. A great woodland setting with masses of natural singletrack. The course is being designed by xcracer.com 29er rider Paul Errington who has knitted together a loop of 12km connecting a host of Sherwood Pines natural singletrack, some of the new all weather trails, which will be great fun at night, and even a bit of climbing. The loop will start and finish by the main facilites and camping area so you'll never be far from your kit, team mates and the transition area. Site opens midday on Saturday with Sherwood Pines Cycles bike shop facilities in the afternoon and then new G2Revolver Bike Shop sponsors Swinnerton's taking over to make sure you have supplies available throughout the night. Also keeping you going will be Torq energy and the team from Exposure Lights so you be fuelled and energised. Next to the finish area is a permanent toilet block with flushing loos and drinking water and a Bike Wash on hand. Quzver Catering will be there with all night fresh coffee and hot/cold snacks. Don't forget our main sponsors Gary Fisher will be on hand with a fleet of demo bikes all kitted out with Exposure Lights and Garmins so you can map your lap and take part in the Garmin Challenge. Uniquely these demo bikes will be available for a race lap so you can see how well they cope under the rigours of racing with the Exposure demo lights showing you the way. Timing will be prvided by Timelaps with lap scoring and instant position updates available to keep you motivated and if you take a tumble, don't worry the Extreme Medics will be available throughout to tend your wounds and get you back on the bike. Race starts at 8pm and finishes at 0800 on Sunday morning so get your lights fully charged!
The race course will not be open for pre riding until 6pm on the Saturday evening so just time to get an orientation lap before the darkness falls. Venue postcoide for Sat Nav is NG21 9JL For more information on the whole series click here. |
