CLIC24 - This Weekend

From the Clic24 Team

If you aren’t familiar with it, then take a look at some of the sweet singletrack and doubletrack that we have in store for you this year:

The course is 14km or about 10 miles long and is mostly singletrack, doubletrack, and woodland fire roads. There are no major hills to surprise you like last year (!) and we think you’ll like it.

We are still working up the fine details of the weekend, but you can rest assured that when you aren’t riding you’ll be treated to the best in CLIC24 hospitality.

Sarah Redpath’s massage team will be on hand again to ease your aching limbs and if you bring your light charger our friends at Lumicycle will be on hand to get the power back into your lamps and have you on the trail again before you know it.

Friends of Blagdon will again supply vast quantities of the food that went down so well last year. From bacon butties at dawn to home baked cakes for tea, pasta to bananas and drinks both hot and cold, you won’t go hungry at CLIC24.

On the Saturday evening top Bristol band The Venus Suite will entertain you with their hot acoustic set. If you haven’t heard singer songwriter Mark Venus then head over to his web site and check him out. Mark and his band will play ‘the pit’ a small natural open air amphitheatre and part of the CLIC24 village.

There will be ample camping again this year with flat and hopefully firm and dry pitches and good access for all types of vehicles. Drinking water again will be supplied by our friends Bristol Water and Midas Group have again agreed to kindly support many of the logistic needs for the event such as crowd barriers and signage. The toilets will again be the best an event can get, with hot and cold running water and regular services. Last year the CLIC24 toilets were heralded by many as the best at any mountain bike event.

Shoot 66 will be on hand throughout the event to capture riders on the course and you will be able to purchase your photos as a keep-sake of a great weekend of riding, chilling and raising money to support children with cancer and leukaemia. Remember, raising your sponsorship is really easy this year… set up a page at www.justgiving.com, tell your friends, family and workmates and watch the sponsorship pledges come flooding in. What could be easier?

If you have already registered for CLIC24 2005 then stay tuned for more news, or visit the web site on the run in to the event and we’ll keep you updated with everything you need to know.

The CLIC24 Team look forward to welcoming you to the event on 14/15 May.
